Hello, My name is Ferghas
You will know my name as Fergus.
The Tale of Oor Ferghas
Ferghas is a young Highland Coo with a coat the colour of warm honey and horns like polished oak branches. He's got shaggy, ginger hair that often falls over his big, brown eyes, giving him a perpetually angry and slightly mischievous look. Ferghas loves to explore, bounding through fields and nuzzling interesting plants. He's incredibly playful and has a knack for making friends, always ready with a gentle moo or a friendly nudge. He's also quite witty; he might not talk in words, but his expressive moos and actions often convey a funny thought or a clever observation.

He wants to see everything that Scotland has to offer! His main goal is to discover new places, meet new people and learn all the secrets of the land. He's particularly interested in finding the most delicious patches of heather, the sunniest spots for a nap, and maybe even the legendary "Sparkling Falls" that everyone whispers about. More importantly, Ferghas wants to share his adventures and discoveries with others, making sure everyone he meets has a smile on their face.

Stories of Ferghas

The Great Bramble Patch Surprise
When Ferghas was a little calf, he got himself quite tangled in a particularly large and prickly bramble patch. While trying to get free, he discovered a hidden hollow filled with the sweetest, juiciest berries he'd ever tasted! It taught him that sometimes, getting a little stuck can lead to wonderful surprises.

The Lost Lamb Rescue
One blustery afternoon, Ferghas heard a faint bleating. He bravely followed the sound and found a lost lamb shivering near a cliff edge. Using his strong build, he gently nudged the lamb away from danger and guided it back towards its worried mother. This made him feel very proud and showed him the importance of helping others.

Whispers of the Water
While exploring near the forests Ferghas overheard some woodland creatures talking about the great, Sparkling Falls and all the strange and wonderful things that live around it. This sparked a deep longing in him to see the falls for himself and he travels around listening for more rumours of its location.

Ferghas’ Family and Friends

Ferghas' Mum
Ferghas loves his Mum dearly. She's a wise and gentle cow who taught him how to find the best grass and how to stay safe. She always encourages his curiosity but also reminds him to be careful. When he was small she used to lick his Coo’s lick up so he could see but now he wears it down to hide his mischief.

Squeaky the Squirrel
A chatty squirrel named Squeaky often joins Ferghas on his explorations. Squeaky knows all the best shortcuts and gossip from the trees, and Ferghas enjoys sharing his snacks with his small friend. But Squeaky is shy and often hides when it's not just him and Ferghas.

The Heilan Wind
While not a creature, Ferghas feels a special connection with the wind. It often whispers secrets of distant lands to him, encouraging him to explore further and discover new horizons. He loves the winds of the Highlands most of all as the scents of Heather and Honey often travel on the breeze.

Ferghas finds his confidence

Ferghas started his adventures as a curious calf, a little unsure of the world. Through his explorations, he's learned to be brave, resourceful, and kind. The lost lamb rescue made him realize the joy of helping others, and his encounters with new places and creatures have broadened his understanding of the world. He's become more confident in his abilities and has developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and wonder of Scotland. His "old soul" wisdom means he cherishes every moment and learns from every experience, always looking forward to the next exciting discovery.
